To connect Dex to your Datto Autotask PSA instance, you must create a dedicated API User and obtain your API Integration Code.
Steps
1Log in to your Autotask PSA instance as an Administrator.
2Go to Admin → Resources (Users) → click New → select New API User.
3Fill out the required general user fields (e.g., First Name: Dex, Last Name: Integration).
4In the API User Credentials section, select Dex as the Integration Vendor (if available), or select Custom (API Integration Code) and generate/enter your tracking identifier.
5Click Generate Key to generate the Username / Key, and Generate Secret to generate the Password / Secret.
6Assign an appropriate Security Level (e.g., API User) with access to Tickets, Contacts, Ticket Notes, etc., then click Save & Close.
Paste into Dex
The connection form in the Dex app store asks for these values:
Username / Key
Password / Secret
API Integration Code
The tracking identifier (Dex vendor, or a custom code).
Company ID
Optional (MSP) — restricts all access to a single client company.
