ConnectWise Automate setup instructions

Integrator credentials + client ID

To connect Dex to ConnectWise Automate, you need an integrator (or API user) account plus a developer-portal Client ID and your Automate server URL.

Steps

1Register at developer.connectwise.com and create a Client ID for your integration.
2In the ConnectWise Automate Control Center, go to System → Integrations (or System → Users) to create a dedicated Integrator / API user account.
3Set that account's username, password, and least-privilege permissions.
4Note your Automate server URL (cloud: your assigned subdomain, e.g. https://yourco.automate.net; on-prem: your own domain) and your Company ID.
5Provide Dex the integrator username + password, the Client ID, the server URL, and Company ID.

Paste into Dex

The connection form in the Dex app store asks for these values:

Client ID

From developer.connectwise.com; sent as the clientId header on every request.

Integrator / API username

Password

Store securely.

Server URL

e.g. https://yourco.automate.net (cloud) or your on-prem domain.
