Jira setup instructions

API token (email + token)

To connect Dex to Jira Cloud, you create an Atlassian API token used together with your account email and your Jira site URL.

Steps
  1. 1Log in to id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens (Atlassian account → Security → API tokens).
  2. 2Click Create API token, enter a label, choose an expiration, and click Create.
  3. 3Click Copy to clipboard and store the token securely — it is only displayed once.
  4. 4Record the email address of the account that generated the token.
  5. 5Get your Jira site URL from the browser (e.g. https://your-company.atlassian.net).
Paste into Dex

The connection form in the Dex app store asks for these values:

Jira site URL
e.g. https://your-company.atlassian.net
Account email
API token
Shown only once at creation.
