Mac Device setup instructions

Agent enrollment (install token)

To let Dex manage a macOS device, you install the Dex agent on the Mac and enroll it with your account — there is no per-device API key to copy.

Steps
  1. 1In the Dex admin console, open the Devices section and choose Add Mac Device.
  2. 2Copy the generated enrollment/install token, or download the pre-configured macOS installer (.pkg).
  3. 3On the Mac, run the .pkg installer (or deploy it via your MDM), supplying the enrollment token when prompted.
  4. 4Approve the required macOS security prompts (System Settings → Privacy & Security) so the agent can run — grant Full Disk Access if requested.
  5. 5Wait for the Mac to check in and appear as Online/Enrolled in the Dex Devices list.
Paste into Dex

The connection form in the Dex app store asks for these values:

Enrollment / install token
Embedded in the .pkg or passed at install time; links the Mac to your Dex account.
