Lansweeper
Bring your Lansweeper IT asset inventory into Dex so you can browse discovered assets in plain language.
Dex connects to Lansweeper to bring your IT asset inventory into the conversation. Read-only for now, so you can browse discovered assets safely - look up devices, hardware, software, and discovery details that Lansweeper has scanned across your environment. MSPs can deploy Lansweeper as a global app, scoped per site across managed clients, so each customer sees only its own assets.
What Dex does with Lansweeper
Dex handles both admin workflows and employee self-service — all policy-guardrailed and audit-logged.
For admins (CoAdmin)
- Connect Lansweeper to discover and browse your IT asset inventory from Dex
- Look up devices, hardware specs, and operating system details captured by discovery
- Review installed software and asset details Lansweeper has scanned
- Search the asset inventory by site, type, or attributes
- Deploy as an MSP global app, scoped per site across managed clients
For employees (self-service)
- Check what Lansweeper has discovered about your own device
- Look up the hardware and software inventory recorded for your machine
Just ask Dex
Your team types a request in plain language. Dex investigates, plans, and executes — with the right guardrails.
Admin prompts
- >How many Windows servers has Lansweeper discovered, and which are running an unsupported OS?
- >Show me the asset details for the device named "FIN-LAPTOP-014"
- >List the assets discovered at the "London" site
- >What software is recorded on the asset assigned to dlevi?
Employee prompts
- >What does Lansweeper have on file for my laptop?
- >What's the recorded hardware spec for my machine?
Policy actions
Every action Dex can take on Lansweeper is declared, scoped, and guardrailed. Admins control which apply, who approves them, and whether they're limited to self-service.

How to configure Lansweeper
Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.
Setup steps
- 1In Lansweeper, open the developer/API settings and create an application or personal access token for Dex.
- 2Authorize the token for read access to the sites whose assets Dex should browse.
- 3Note your Lansweeper API endpoint and the site identifier(s) you want to expose.
- 4In Dex, enable the Lansweeper integration and paste the API token and endpoint.
- 5Dex validates the token with a live read before saving. For MSPs, scope the global app per site.
Credentials required
- api_token
- Lansweeper application or personal API token with read access

Requirements
- •A Lansweeper subscription with discovery already populating an asset inventory
- •An API token with read access to the relevant sites
