Phase 1

Brand identity

Set your agent name, logo, and chat terminology across all tenants.

Switch to Global Site

In Dex

Global branding applies to every child tenant in your multi-tenant account. Start by switching to the Global Site context.

Single-tenant accounts

If you’re not on a multi-tenant MSP setup, you won’t see the Global Site option. Skip to Phase 3 (Per-account override) to brand your individual account.

Navigate to the Global Branding tab where you can configure your brand identity.

Set your agent name and logo

Under section 01 — Brand Identity, configure the name and logo that replace "Dex" across the admin center and the chat experience.

Logo format

Use a square PNG or SVG with a transparent background for best results. The logo appears in the chat bubble, sidebar, and Teams app.

What changes

The agent name replaces "Dex" across chat messages, Teams, and Slack. Your logo replaces the Dex logo in the admin center sidebar and chat avatar.

Customize chat terminology and save

Below the name and logo, customize the in-chat terminology. These strings appear in the chat experience when Dex communicates with end users.

Preview in Chat

The live preview shows a sample chat message using your custom agent name and terminology — exactly as end users will see it.

Immediate effect

The new name, logo, and terminology take effect immediately in the admin center and chat experience for all tenants. End users will see the updated branding in their next chat session.

Phase 2

Teams app branding

Update the Dex app manifest in Microsoft Teams to match your brand.

Scroll down to section 02 — Dex Channel Branding on the same Global Branding page. This controls how the Dex app appears inside Microsoft Teams.

Manifest auto-download

Saving the brand identity automatically generates and downloads an updated Teams app manifest (.zip). You’ll upload this to the Teams admin center in the next step.

Now in Teams Admin Center

Open the Microsoft Teams admin center, find the Dex app, and upload the updated manifest to push your branding live.

Don’t unzip the file

Upload the .zip file as-is. Do not extract it before uploading.

Approval timing

Teams typically processes the update within a few minutes. Users may need to refresh Teams to see the new name and icon.

Phase 3

Per-account override

Override the global branding for a specific tenant.

Override branding for a single tenant

Now in Dex

You can override the global branding for any individual tenant. This is useful when a client wants their own brand instead of the MSP’s global branding. The per-account settings take priority over the global defaults.

The per-tenant Branding tab — same fields as Global Branding but scoped to this tenant only. Here "NorthStar IT Solutions" is branded as "North Star Agent".

Override behavior

Per-account branding overrides the global branding for that specific tenant only. Other tenants continue using the global brand. To revert, clear the per-account fields and save — the tenant will fall back to the global branding.

Single-tenant accounts

If you’re not using multi-tenant, this is the only branding page you’ll see. The same fields appear under Settings → Branding in your account.

Different settings layout

The per-tenant Settings page has more tabs than the Global Site: General, Users & Roles, Branding, Policies, Devices, and Reference Data. The Branding tab here is the equivalent of Global Branding on the Global Site.

Your brand is live

Dex now appears with your custom name, logo, and terminology — across the admin center, chat experience, and Microsoft Teams. End users will see your brand in their next interaction.
