Kaseya VSA
Browse your Kaseya VSA agent fleet, check patch status, and run agent procedures in plain language.
Dex connects to Kaseya VSA (classic VSA 9) through its REST API so admins can work the whole managed fleet conversationally - search agents and assets, browse organizations and machine groups, check per-agent patch scan state and missing patches, and run on-demand agent procedures like diagnostics or a reboot. Employees can check their own machine's status and patch compliance through Dex Go. Available as an MSP global app: one server credential is shared, and each Dex tenant is automatically confined to its Kaseya organization.
What Dex does with Kaseya VSA
Dex handles both admin workflows and employee self-service — all policy-guardrailed and audit-logged.
For admins (CoAdmin)
- List and search agents (managed machines) by organization, machine group, online status, OS, or name
- Browse the broader asset inventory - computers, mobile, and network devices Kaseya has discovered
- Look up organizations and machine groups across the account
- Check per-agent patch status - last scan, next scan, and the list of missing patches by KB and classification
- Run agent procedures on demand - diagnostics, scripts, or a reboot procedure - with approval
- Deploy as an MSP global app - one server credential, each customer confined to its Kaseya OrgId
For employees (self-service)
- Check whether your own computer is online and when it last checked in
- See your machine's patch status and how many updates are pending
- Find out if your computer needs a reboot
- Run an approved diagnostic or reboot on your own machine
Just ask Dex
Your team types a request in plain language. Dex investigates, plans, and executes — with the right guardrails.
Admin prompts
- >List the offline servers for Acme Inc in Kaseya
- >Which machines in the root.servers group haven't checked in for over a week?
- >What patches is FIN-LAPTOP-014 missing?
- >Run the disk cleanup procedure on SAL-WS-022
- >Show me all organizations and their machine groups
Employee prompts
- >Is my computer online in Kaseya?
- >Am I missing any updates?
- >Does my machine need a reboot? If so, reboot it
Policy actions
Every action Dex can take on Kaseya VSA is declared, scoped, and guardrailed. Admins control which apply, who approves them, and whether they're limited to self-service.

How to configure Kaseya VSA
Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.
Setup steps
- 1In Kaseya VSA 9, create (or pick) an API user with scope over the organizations Dex should manage.
- 2Generate a Personal Access Token (PAT) for that user.
- 3Note your VSA server URL (e.g. https://company.kaseya.net).
- 4In Dex, enable the Kaseya VSA integration and paste the server URL, API username, and PAT.
- 5Dex validates the credentials with a live call before saving. For MSPs, deploy as a global app and map each customer tenant to its Kaseya OrgId.
Credentials required
- server_url
- Kaseya VSA server URL (e.g. https://company.kaseya.net)
- username
- VSA API user Dex authenticates as
- personal_access_token
- Personal Access Token generated for the API user
- org_id
- Optional Kaseya OrgId - when set, every call is confined to that organization (per-customer MSP isolation)
Requirements
- •Kaseya VSA 9 with the REST API (/api/v1.0) enabled - VSA 10 and VSA X use different APIs and are not covered by this app
- •An API user with a Personal Access Token and scope over the target organizations
- •For MSPs, the integration deploys as a global app with per-tenant OrgId scoping
