Read-only for this first ship: Dex browses what a subscription protects but does not enable backups or change settings. How to configure ConnectWise Cloud Backup (SkyKick)

Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.

Setup steps

In the SkyKick / ConnectWise Partner Portal, go to Settings > User Profile > Developer API Access and register an API user for Dex.

Copy the Client ID and Client Secret from the Developer API Access registration (the secret is shown once).

On the same page, show and copy the Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key (Partner Subscription key).

In Dex, create the MSP-master connection with the Client ID, Client Secret, and subscription key - leave backup_service_id blank.

Dex discovers each tenant's backup_service_id from GET /Backup/ on the master and saves it on the tenant's own connection; it validates against GET /Backup/{id}/subscriptionsettings before use.

Credentials required

client_id: Partner API Client ID from Developer API Access (secret; never surfaced)
client_secret: Partner API Client Secret from the same registration (secret; shown once)
subscription_key: Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key (Partner Subscription key)
backup_service_id: This tenant's SkyKick Backup service id (GUID or opaque string); leave blank on the MSP-master connection, set it on the tenant connection once discovered

Requirements

•A SkyKick / ConnectWise Cloud Backup Partner account with Developer API Access enabled
•One shared Partner OAuth client (client_credentials) covering every Backup subscription under the MSP
•Read-only for this first ship - Dex reads subscriptions, mailboxes, sites, and settings but does not enable backups or change settings
•For MSPs, deploy as a global app with per-tenant scoping by backup_service_id
