TimeZest

Send customers a self-service booking link and follow up on appointments, using the TimeZest scheduling you already run alongside your PSA.

Dex connects to TimeZest, the appointment-scheduling product MSPs bolt onto their PSA, so it can create a scheduling request, hand back the booking link, and follow up on whether the customer has picked a time. TimeZest does not book a slot itself - Dex mints a link, the end user opens it and chooses from real agent or team availability in their browser. Dex can look up appointment types, agents, teams, and bookable resources before scheduling, and employees can book time with the service desk themselves through Dex Go and see their own upcoming appointments. Available as an MSP global app: one shared TimeZest API key, and each Dex tenant is confined to its own PSA company so one customer can never see another's bookings.

What Dex does with TimeZest

Dex handles both admin workflows and employee self-service — all policy-guardrailed and audit-logged.

A

For admins (Dex Pro)

  • List the appointment types the MSP offers, with names and durations
  • List the TimeZest agents (technicians) and teams (help desk, dispatch, project) that can be booked
  • List bookable resources - agents and teams together, already excluding anyone not licensed for scheduling
  • Create a scheduling request and hand back the booking link, with the appointment pinned to the right PSA company on a scoped tenant
  • Check whether a customer has picked a time yet by reading scheduling-request status
  • Deploy as an MSP global app - one shared API key, each customer confined to its own PSA company
E

For employees (self-service)

  • Find the right appointment type for what you need - a phone call, a remote session, an onsite visit
  • Book time with the service desk yourself and get a self-service booking link
  • Check your own scheduling requests: booked or not, and when
  • See who you are booked with and how long the appointment is

Just ask Dex

Your team types a request in plain language. Dex investigates, plans, and executes — with the right guardrails.

Admin prompts

  • >What appointment types do we offer, and how long is each?
  • >Send Rodney at Acme a 30-minute booking link with the help desk team
  • >Has rodney@example.com picked a time yet?
  • >List the agents who can be booked for scheduling

Employee prompts

  • >Book me a 15-minute call with the service desk
  • >When is my next appointment?
  • >Have I picked a time for my support session yet?

Policy actions

Every action Dex can take on TimeZest is declared, scoped, and guardrailed. Admins control which apply, who approves them, and whether they're limited to self-service.

How to configure TimeZest

Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.

Setup steps

  1. 1
In TimeZest, go to Settings > API Keys and create an API key for Dex. Use a read/write key if Dex should create booking links; a read-only key can only list.
  2. 2
Note which PSA your TimeZest account is integrated with: ConnectWise, Autotask, or HaloPSA.
  3. 3
In Dex, enable the TimeZest integration and paste the API key and PSA platform.
  4. 4
Dex validates the key with a live read before saving and inventories your appointment types, agents, and teams.
  5. 5
For MSPs, deploy as a global app and map each customer tenant to its PSA company id - leave it blank on the master account.

Credentials required

api_key
TimeZest API key from Settings > API Keys - use a read/write key to create booking links, read-only to list only
psa_platform
Which PSA your TimeZest account is integrated with: connectwise_psa, autotask, or halo_psa. Mandatory on a scoped tenant
psa_company_id
Optional per-tenant scope - the PSA company id (ConnectWise company id, Autotask Company ID, or HaloPSA Client id) this tenant maps to. Leave blank on the master account

Requirements

  • A TimeZest account integrated with a supported PSA (ConnectWise, Autotask, or HaloPSA)
  • A read/write API key if Dex should create booking links; read-only is enough to list agents, teams, appointment types, and scheduling requests
  • At least one agent or team licensed for scheduling - no booking link can be created until someone is enabled
  • For MSPs, deploy as a global app scoped per PSA company. ServiceNow-integrated accounts are master-only and cannot be scoped per tenant
