Axcient x360Recover

Check backup health across your Axcient x360Recover fleet - clients, protected devices, backup jobs, restore points, and AutoVerify, all read-only.

Dex connects to the Axcient x360Recover public API so admins can answer backup-health questions conversationally - is this client backing up, when was the last good restore point, did AutoVerify pass, and how much storage is in use. Read-only by design: Dex browses clients, appliances, protected devices, backup jobs and history, restore points, and AutoVerify results, plus organization-wide vaults, users, and devices on an unscoped connection. Available as an MSP global app: one shared partner API key covers every client, and each Dex tenant is confined to its own Axcient client via client_id.

What Dex does with Axcient x360Recover

Dex handles both admin workflows and employee self-service — all policy-guardrailed and audit-logged.

A

For admins (Dex Pro)

  • Check backup health per client - current and previous health status, latest local, cloud, and vault restore points, and thresholds, straight from the device list
  • Read a client profile and storage usage (local, vault, and cloud)
  • Browse appliances and the protected devices behind them for a client
  • Review backup jobs, job detail, and job history (status, start and end times, bytes, errors) for a device
  • List restore points for a device and read its latest AutoVerify results
  • On an unscoped connection, browse organization-wide vaults, users, devices, appliances, and the partner organization
  • Deploy as an MSP global app - one shared partner API key, each customer confined to its Axcient client via client_id

Just ask Dex

Your team types a request in plain language. Dex investigates, plans, and executes — with the right guardrails.

Admin prompts

  • >Is Contoso backing up? When was the last good backup on each device?
  • >Did AutoVerify pass for the file server at Acme?
  • >Show me the storage usage for this client - local, vault, and cloud
  • >List the backup jobs for the device DESK-FIN-07 and show me the recent history
  • >Which devices for this client have a degraded health status?

How to configure Axcient x360Recover

Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.

Setup steps

  1. 1
In x360Portal, go to Settings > API Keys and generate a partner API key for Dex.
  2. 2
In Dex, enable the Axcient x360Recover integration and paste the API key.
  3. 3
Leave client_id blank on the MSP-master connection (or a single-organization customer) for organization-wide access.
  4. 4
For an MSP child tenant, discover the client_id from GET /x360recover/client on the master and save it on that tenant's connection.
  5. 5
Dex validates the key with a live read before saving, then confirms the client name matches the tenant so the mapping is correct.

Credentials required

api_key
Axcient x360Portal partner API key (secret; sent as the x-api-key header)
client_id
This tenant's x360Recover client id (positive integer; leave blank on the MSP master or a single-organization customer)

Requirements

  • •An Axcient x360Recover (BDR) account with a x360Portal partner API key
  • •Read-only by design - Dex browses backup health, jobs, restore points, and AutoVerify but does not modify anything (vault threshold writes and D2C agent token mint are out of scope)
  • •For MSPs, deploy as a global app with one shared partner API key and per-tenant scoping by client_id
