Monitor and remediate your ConnectWise Automate (LabTech) fleet - computers, patch and AV state, and on-demand commands in plain language.

Dex connects to ConnectWise Automate (LabTech) through its REST API so admins can work the managed fleet conversationally - search computers with Automate's own condition grammar, browse clients and locations, read patch, antivirus, and reboot state straight off the computer records, and queue on-demand commands like a reboot or diagnostic. Employees can check their own machine's status and patch compliance through Dex Go. This is the on-prem / hosted Automate RMM - ConnectWise RMM (Asio) and ConnectWise PSA have their own pages. Available as an MSP global app: one server credential is shared, and each Dex tenant is confined to its Automate Client.

How to configure ConnectWise Automate

Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.

Setup steps

    In ConnectWise Automate, create an integrator / API user for Dex - without two-factor auth (a stored TOTP passcode cannot drive a service connection).
  2. 2
    Register a Partner Client ID (GUID) at developer.connectwise.com/ClientID - required for Automate v2020.11 and later.
  3. 3
    Note your Automate server host (e.g. company.hostedrmm.com).
  4. 4
    In Dex, enable the ConnectWise Automate integration and paste the server URL, Partner Client ID, username, and password.
  5. 5
    Dex validates the credentials with a live call before saving. For MSPs, deploy as a global app and map each customer tenant to its Automate Client.Id.

Requirements

  • ConnectWise Automate (LabTech), on-prem or hosted, with the REST API (/cwa/api/v1) reachable over HTTPS
  • An integrator / API user without two-factor auth, plus a registered Partner Client ID
  • This is not ConnectWise RMM (Asio) and not ConnectWise PSA - those are separate Dex apps
  • For MSPs, the integration deploys as a global app with per-tenant Client.Id scoping
