Dex connects to ScalePad Core and Lifecycle Manager so admins can run client lifecycle work conversationally - browse hardware and SaaS assets, warranty and end-of-life lifecycles, service contracts, opportunities, and the full Lifecycle Manager picture of initiatives, meetings, goals, action items, and assessments. Dex can also create Lifecycle Manager contacts and initiatives, update initiatives, and open a PSA ticket from an initiative. ScalePad is an MSP global app: one shared personal API key covers every client, and each Dex tenant is confined to its own ScalePad client via the client_id identifier, so a tenant only ever sees its own records.

How to configure ScalePad

Onboarding takes minutes. Dex validates your credentials before saving them.

Setup steps

In ScalePad, sign in as an Administrator and generate a personal API key (Administrator > API keys).

On the MSP-master connection in Dex, paste the API key and leave client_id blank for multi-client access.

Use the master connection to look up each tenant's client id via GET /core/v1/clients or GET /lifecycle-manager/v1/clients, matching by client name.

On each tenant's own connection, save the discovered client_id so every call is confined to that ScalePad client.

Dex validates the credentials with a live read before saving, then configure approval requirements for the Lifecycle Manager writes.

Credentials required

api_key: ScalePad personal API key generated by an Administrator (shared across all MSP clients; stored as a secret)
client_id: This tenant's ScalePad client id (opaque dashed string); leave blank on the MSP-master connection, set it on each tenant connection for per-client isolation

Requirements

•A ScalePad account with Core and Lifecycle Manager, and an active Administrator to generate the personal API key
•The API key's product subscriptions must cover the Core and Lifecycle Manager data you want to read
•Deploy as an MSP global app: one shared API key on the master, each Dex tenant confined to its own ScalePad client via client_id
•Client rosters (list all clients) and the hardware lifecycle dashboard are master-only and refused on a scoped tenant connection
